Senior Back-end Engineer (Python/Django)
We are a legal research and analytics company that utilizes AI and machine learning to harvest and analyze hundreds of millions of state trial court documents and data that we mine to provide our clients with practical, data-backed intelligence to deliver fast, high-quality results about judicial rulings and competitive analysis. In the past 12 months we 3x our business! We have just concluded our Series A finance round and raised $14M!! We are looking for a Back-end Engineer focused on Python/Django that wants to be a meaningful part of a small team (5 Engineers). You will be working to build clean, scalable architecture to keep up with our rapidly growing user base and data. This role is 100% remote and can be onsite post Covid if you choose. About the Role Back-end Engineers at Trellis work directly with our product team to lead the development of user-facing APIs and backend services. As a backend engineer, you will get to work on organizing, transforming and serving large data sets in a high speed/high volume environment. Back-end Engineers are also responsible for creating APIs and services that help get customer facing products built. Requirements ● At least 8 years of experience with Back-end or Data Engineering. ● Python proficiency and working knowledge of Django, AWS and Linux are a must. ● Strong understanding of Architecture, API Development, Big Data and Web performance optimization. ● Detail-oriented and can translate product and data requirements into a working application. ● Familiarity with Redis, Elasticsearch, Postgres is a plus. ● BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent technical work experience. Responsibilities ● Take ownership of backend stack and develop great products you are proud to highlight. ● Work with and lead other engineers on multiple projects and products ● Work with existing large scale data sets to build backend services. ● Organize data and optimize speed of application performance ● Collaborate with data and other backend engineers on large scale data projects. ● Collaborate with product to understand and implement new features.
